The bowl is rough turned by hand on a woodturning lathe then set aside to dry for 6 months to a year. Once dry it is turned to its final shape, sanded and then finished with Danish oil. After drying for about a week the bowl has a Carnauba wax applied with a buffing wheel, this provides a durable long lasting finish that should only need an occasional polishing with a soft cloth. This is a decorative item not intended for utility use with raw foods.
