Boxelder Burl Nested Bowls

Set of nested bowls from one blank
 
This bowl is made from a Boxelder Tree, the tree
had a hollow trunk and was removed due to safety
concerns in the 1990’s. A large portion of the tree
had growths called burls which are prized by
woodworkers for the interesting figure.
 
The tree was approximately 95 years old and
was located in Fort Douglas near the old theatre.
